Testimony: acquisition of www.fgbmfi.com confirmed by 2 earthquakesI became a FGBMFI member in 1997 while I lived in El Salvador. Being an IT professional I set up my own website to publish my testimony in October 2001. I also took a special interest in visiting FGBMFI related websites. On November 29, 2005 I acquired the domain www.fgbmfi.us and published some FGBMFI related content on it. In 2005 and 2006 I noticed that the domain www.fgbmfi.com was for sale by a Russian agency. I wanted to buy it back for the following reason: many people do not notice the .org behind the domain name and type in www.fgbmfi.com instead; they would then get the impression that the FGBMFI website did not exist any longer. But at the time at over $14,000 USD the price was way out of reach for me. I started to pray for this. I asked the Lord to hand the domain over to me. I even prayed repeatedly that the Lord would temporarily keep the owner without funds, so that he would not be able to renew the domain and that I might buy it. But in 2007 I saw that the seller had once more renewed it and kept offering it for sale. In July 2007 I was going to have my yearly vacations and was going to receive my holiday pay. I would then be able to acquire the domain but not at the list price. I entered into negotiations with the seller in June 2007. After several offers and counteroffers we settled for a price of $1,200 USD. On July 2, 2007 at 10:35AM PDT I agreed with the escrow transaction on www.escrow.com. I used to monitor closely every day the Latest Earthquakes in the World list. That same day I noticed there were 2 earthquakes, one in the Russian region where the seller lived and the other one in El Salvador where I lived at the time. Here follow the details of those 2 quakes:
(Data from the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program.) Note that both quakes occurred with only 3 hours between them. Also note that both quakes have the same depth of 35 km. This is a triple coincidence! Two quakes in the regions where seller and buyer lived, with only 3 hours between them, and at the same depth. What a confirmation that this acquisition was indeed God's will! I wired the money to www.escrow.com and on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 www.fgbmfi.com was handed over to me in a GoDaddy account. Immediately I sent an email to brother Johnny Carrette, whom I had met several times, to tell him about the acquisition. A few days later I showed the receipt of the transaction to a brother of the Siete Mares Chapter. And I told him the whole story and how I had used my own money. The brother knew how delicate my financial situation was and he gave me a check that covered almost the full amount of what I had paid. During one of the following National Conventions of El Salvador we had the visit of brother Richard Shakarian. While he was sitting at a table in a restaurant of the convention hotel he invited me to sit with him and invited me to a cup of coffee. We had the opportunity to talk shortly and I informed him personally that I had been able to buy the www.fgbmfi.com domain. On January 1, 2010 I also acquired the domain www.fgbmfi.eu.
